Dirty Bird 10 Mile Trail Race
The Dirty Bird is a 10 mile trail race held at French Creek State Park, Pool Area, in Elverson, Pennsylvania on February 7, 2027. The course is primarily off-road and combines rocky singletrack, dirt roads and a short paved section; the organizer notes approximately 80% trail, 17% dirt road and 3% paved road. The route starts with a short road section before entering slightly rolling terrain that includes three main hills and longer sections suitable for faster running.
Registration is online only and open until midnight on the Wednesday of race week; a nominal service fee applies. Entry fees and shirt options are tiered: with shirt $40 through January 24, 2027 then $45 after that date while shirts last; without shirt $35 through January 24 then $40 after. Race day payments are cash or check only; there are no refunds and shirts or awards are not mailed.
Facilities and race support include heated bathrooms near registration, ample parking, registration next to the playground and boat launch area, two water stops on course, and results posted by the organizer by noon of the next business day. Minors may compete only if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the event. The organizer may adjust the course or postpone the event in extreme conditions to protect park trails and participant safety.
