Dino Trail Run at Muscatatuck Park
The Dino Trail Run takes place at Muscatatuck County Park in North Vernon, Indiana on Saturday July 11, 2026. The event offers two trail course options:
- 5 km trail run
- 15 km trail run
Course difficulty is rated Hills 4 and Surface 3 on a 1 to 5 scale. Registration is handled online and prices increase the Wednesday before the event at midnight. Standard entry fees listed are 5 km for $30 and 15 km for $35, with an additional day of entry fee and a free kids race. GPX files and course maps are available for both distances.
The weekend program includes additional mountain bike events on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, plus two evening kayak shuttle trips on Saturday. Kayak Trip 1 is about 3 miles and Trip 2 is about 2.5 miles; each trip is expected to take a little over an hour at a leisurely pace depending on water level. Festival style camping is available around Shelter 4 for $5 per person per night; designated campsites can be reserved online. Restrooms are within walking distance and a playground and splash pad are nearby.
Race rules require the race number to be visible, following marked trails, courteous passing, and no headphones or dogs. Awards include medals for overall top three in each distance and medals for top three in each age group. No refunds are offered and transfers have specific cutoff and fee rules.
