Okement loop and Devon Champs 2026 fell Race

This event on 21 March 2026 combines the Okement Loop open fell race with the Devon AA county championships and serves as a selection race for the Intercounties. It is the first race in the Dartmoor fell Series 2026 and includes races for multiple junior age groups as well as the senior open race.

The senior course is a Mountain A classified route of 14.3 km with about 750 m of ascent. Kit is mandatory for seniors and must include waterproof top and trousers, hat, gloves, whistle, compass, map and a nutritious snack. Runners should use grippy shoes for steep descents. The course will be marshalled, mostly unmarked, and has FRA licence and DNPA approval.

Junior races cover separate lines and distances for U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 and U20 categories, with specific route descriptions and marshal points provided by the organiser. U18 and U20 follow part of the senior line and require similar kit. Prizes for junior age groups are managed by the county junior team manager.

Entries offer a choice of the Dartmoor fell series race only or an option that includes the Devon championships for a small additional fee to support county team travel. Online entries close on 17 March 2026. Parking and registration are located in the camping field where registration is in a small gazebo. The organiser requests volunteer marshals.
