Deuces Wild Runs

The Deuces Wild Endurance Festival is a multi-day running event held at Fool Hollow Lake State Park in the White Mountains of Arizona. The festival features a variety of distances held over a weekend, including road and trail options. Participants navigate a landscape situated at an elevation of approximately 7,000 feet, with courses passing through campgrounds and scenic areas near the lake.

The event offers several race distances:

  • Half Marathon: A two-loop course featuring mixed terrain with paved roads and groomed dirt paths.
  • 10K Run: A single-loop route along scenic roads and gravel paths around the lake.
  • 5K Run: A course held entirely within the state park on paved roads and groomed trails.
  • 8K Trail Run: A Sunday event following forest trails with a mix of hills and flat terrain near the lake.

The road-based races include aid stations located approximately every mile, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and snacks. All participants receive a finisher medal, a t-shirt, and access to post-race food such as bagels and fruit. Timing is tracked electronically using timing chips, and results are published following the event. The festival takes place regardless of rain or sun, and various cut-off times are enforced, such as a 2:30 PM limit for the longer Saturday distances.
