Event Overview
The DENFIT ULTRA is a two-day running event taking place in early May in Colden, New York, at the Buffalo Ski Center. The event marks the debut of the DENFIT brand in the Buffalo area. Participants will start at midnight.
Courses and Distances
The race offers two ultra-distance events, both starting together at midnight:
- DENFIT ULTRA 50k: Runners complete 5 laps of a 10 km loop for a total of 50 kilometers, with a 10-hour time limit.
- DENFIT ULTRA 100k: Runners complete 10 laps of a 10 km loop for a total of 100 kilometers, with an 18-hour time limit.
The course is a loop that goes up and down the ski slopes. It is not lit; the route will be marked with reflective flagging and lawn flags. Headlamps are mandatory for all runners until at least 7:00 AM.
Event Details
A large tent at the base of the ski hills will serve as a basecamp, providing food, bathrooms, and a designated area for runner gear. There may also be multiple tents available for runners to use.
The course features significant elevation gain. Natural obstacles such as low branches or fallen trees may be present. According to the venue's general manager, there may still be snow at the top of the hills during the event.
Awards
All finishers will receive a medal that is at least 7 inches in size. Only the top ten male and female finishers in each distance will receive a custom, special edition spear. The top three male and female finishers in each event will receive additional prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
