The event takes place at Buffalo Ski Center, 7414 State Rd, Colden, NY 14033. It includes two distances:
- 50k
- 100k
Course and race details
The course is a 10k loop on ski slopes. It is not lit; reflective flagging and lawn flags mark the route. Headlamps are mandatory and required until 7am. The 100k consists of 10 laps with an 18 hour limit. The 50k consists of 5 laps with a 10 hour limit. A large tent at the base of the ski hills will provide food, bathrooms and a gear area; multiple tents will be available at basecamp.
Finisher medals are stated to be at least 7 inches in size. Only the top ten male and female finishers in each distance will receive a custom special edition spear. Additional prizes and awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each event. The course includes notable elevation changes and possible natural obstacles such as low branches and fallen trees. The venue manager noted there may still be snow at the top of the hills.
