The Death Race is the 26th Annual Canadian Death Race held in Grande Cache, Alberta, Canada. The event includes an ultra, a marathon, a relay, and a kids race. Registration uses tiered pricing and some race categories have limited spots.
Course and schedule
The ultra course is 118 km and begins and ends on a 4,200-foot plateau. The route passes over three mountain summits, includes more than 17,000 feet of elevation change, and features a major river crossing at Hell's Gate canyon at the confluence of the Smoky and Sulphur Rivers. Racer check-in, volunteer and racer meetings are scheduled the day before the main race. The events take place across August 1 and August 2, 2026, with marathon and ultra/relay course closing periods and award presentations on the second day.
