Death Race

The Canadian Death Race takes place in Grande Cache, Alberta, set against the backdrop of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. This trail running event features a course through wilderness terrain, crossing three mountain summits. The route begins and ends on a plateau at an elevation of 4,200 feet. The **118 km** ultramarathon includes a total elevation change of over 17,000 feet (5,181 meters).

A key feature of the course is a major river crossing at the Hell's Gate canyon, located at the confluence of the Smoky and Sulphur Rivers. The race is designated as a qualifier for the Western States Endurance Run and the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc.
