Dark & Dirty Nighttime 10k Trail Run

The event is a nighttime trail run of 10 km held in Reading, Pennsylvania at the Liederkranz German Singing & Sports Club, 143 Spook Lane. The course uses wider double and triple-track rustic trails that are described as less technical than some trails; runners are responsible for providing their own lighting such as headlamps or flashlights. Organizers will place glowing markers at turns and there will be one or two water stops with unusual beverage options. The course is wheel measured.

Registration is required online and the online registration period closes the Wednesday of race week at midnight. Entry fees change after the stated pre-entry deadline; shirts are included with some entry options and extra shirts are printed in limited quantities. Race-day payments are cash or check only; shirts and awards are not mailed and there are no refunds. The event runs rain or shine and may be delayed for lightning.

Age and participation rules are specified: runners under 18 must have a parent present at the event; runners under 16 must have a person committed to running the entire race with them. Dogs are permitted when kept on a very short leash and held toward the back for the first quarter mile. Awards include overall top male and female (not eligible for age-group awards), age-group prizes, Clydesdale categories with qualifying weights, and prizes for the two most illuminated runners.
