Course and logistics
The course is a single-track loop of approximately 10 miles per loop on the Platte River bluffs. The loop has about 900 feet of elevation gain and reaches roughly 1,400 feet maximum elevation. Trails start at the top of the bluff, include technical sections with switchbacks and roots, and pass through cedar ridges. The course layout places a fully stocked, manned aid station at the start/finish and an unmanned water stop on course that is passed twice each loop. Drop bags are allowed. There is a mandatory prerace briefing shortly before each race and packet pickup is available up to 90 minutes before race start. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited on the Calvin Crest property. Pacers are permitted for 100-mile runners after 50 miles and for Lucky 13 runners after sunrise. Winners receive event awards labeled Crown of the Crest.
