Crimson Canyons Ultra

The Crimson Canyons Ultra Trail Race takes place on trails in the Pahvant Range near Richfield, Utah, within the red rock canyons of the Fishlake National Forest.

Three distances are offered:

  • 10 km (6.2 miles): This route uses the Big Red, Faulty, Cairn-age, and Tank Run trails.
  • 21 km (Half Marathon): This route climbs four bike trails, runs along the Cottonwood Canyon rim, and descends via the Lower Spinal Tap trail.
  • 60 km (38.3 miles): This route summits White Pine Peak at 10,200 feet before descending the full 18-mile length of the Spinal Tap Trail.

The event uses trails from both the Pahvant Mountain Bike Trail System, which has over 100 miles of single-track, and remote sections of the Paiute ATV Trail system. The routes consist of single-track trails, ride lines, and gravel streambeds. Aid stations and cut-off times are specified for each distance. The local Richfield Bottling Plant provides drinks for participants.
