Crazy Muley Ultra
The Crazy Muley Ultra takes place in Edgerton, Alberta, featuring a course designed around unique sand dune complexes. The event showcases the local region and its landscapes through a mix of single track, quad trails, and both paved and gravel roads. Participants should expect a hilly terrain with loose sand and minimal shade. The event offers three main categories: * **50 km** (Big Buck) consisting of a single loop through Saharan-like landscapes. * **25 km-ish** (Fawn) which shares the first half of the route with the longer distance. * **25 km-ish Team Relay** for two-person teams, with legs of approximately 16 km and 11 km. The start and finish line is located at the Sand Dune Liquor Store parking lot, across from the Oasis Hotel.
The course is marked with pink and blue pin flags. Time limits are set at 12 hours for the *50 km* and 6 hours for the *25 km*. Aid stations and water points are available along the route, providing hydration and nutrition. This is a cup-less event, and participants are required to bring their own reusable containers.
Well-behaved dogs are permitted if leashed at aid stations and the start/finish area. All finishers receive a handmade clay buckle and a finisher drink at the end of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
