Coyote Ultra
Coyote Ultra takes place on forest trails in Saint-Lazare, Quebec, near 4115 Chemin Sainte Angélique. The event uses the Backyard Ultra format in which runners repeat a single loop until only one runner remains.
The course is a forest loop measuring exactly 6.706 km (4.167 miles), the official Backyard Ultra distance. Each lap begins at the top of the hour and must be completed within 60 minutes. Missing the start or failing to complete a lap within the 60 minute cutoff results in elimination (DNF).
Personal assistance is not permitted on the course; support is allowed only between laps within the designated transition area. Water will be available in the start/transition area, but runners are responsible for their own nutrition, electrolytes, hydration systems, and personal equipment. A limited number of toilets will be available in the starting area.
The event continues regardless of daylight conditions, so preparation is important. As hours pass the race becomes a test of pacing, recovery, nutrition, and mental resilience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
