Cowboy 100 - Valentine to Atkinson, NE

The Cowboy 100 is a point to point 100 mile trail race that runs along the Cowboy Trail from Valentine to Atkinson, Nebraska. The route uses a crushed limestone rail trail that is off limits to automobiles. The trail is described as non-technical, 100 percent runnable, and extraordinarily flat. The exact route may change with trail closures and maintenance.

Beginning in 2027 the 100 mile race is run separately from the Cowboy 200 and is capped at 150 runners. The 100 mile race runs the second half of the 200 in reverse, and the event will introduce a new finisher buckle design for 100 mile finishers. Because the course is technically new, course records from the original Cowboy 100 do not transfer.

Planned full aid is listed for Arabia, Wood Lake, Johnstown, Ainsworth, Long Pine, Bassett, and Stuart, bringing the average distance between aid stations to about 14 miles compared to about 20 miles when the race was combined with the 200. Live GPS tracking will be provided by Legends Tracking USA. The race uses a 34 hour cutoff. A shuttle will be available for uncrewed runners and additional runner manual and aid station information will be provided.

No refunds and no bib transfers are permitted. Entry deferral credit is available on a sliding scale based on timing and no deferrals are allowed after March 17. Deferral credits apply to Ultraverse Supplements races and attach to the entrant's Ultrasignup account. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
