Event Overview
The Conquer the Wall Endurance Challenge is a timed running and rucking event held on a flat, paved 2.05-mile loop on the West Williamson flood wall and the campus of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College in Williamson, West Virginia. The event has a participant limit of 250.
Race Formats
The main events are a 47-hour and a 35-hour challenge. Participants can enter as individuals or in relay teams of two or three people. A separate rucking division requires participants to carry a 25 lb rucksack, which is weighed at the start, every six hours, and at the finish.
Course and Timing
The loop course is open to traffic. Participants must wear an ankle bracelet timing device on their right leg at all times. Laps are counted electronically when crossing a timing mat at the start/finish area, located in front of the Main Campus building. Live results are displayed on-site.
On-Site Amenities
One main aid station at the start/finish provides hydration and food. Lodging is available inside the campus facility for a fee, or participants can camp outside, sleep in their cars, or use local accommodations. The event features community-provided food, karaoke, and volunteer support. Alcohol is not permitted on the college campus.
Awards and Items
Participants receive a finisher item. Belt buckles and other awards are given for reaching milestones like 50 miles or 100 miles. The top male and female with the highest mileage in each timed event receive a unique award. Shirts are guaranteed for those registered by March 1.
