Conquer the Wall Endurance Challenge - Williamson, WV
Conquer the Wall is a multi day endurance event held on the Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College campus in Williamson, West Virginia. The event features two timed formats, a 47 hour and a 35 hour challenge, run on a flat, paved 2.05 mile loop along the West Williamson flood wall and the college grounds. The field is limited to 250 participants and the event marks its tenth anniversary.
Race entries include individual solo runners and relay teams of two or three. Team relays use ankle bracelet timing tags that are exchanged between teammates and teams are asked to register with a team name. Participants receive finisher items and belt buckles for reaching 50 miles or 100 miles, with additional awards for highest mileage by gender.
A rucking option is offered for the 35 hour and 47 hour events; rucks must weigh 25 pounds and will be weighed before the event, periodically during the event, and after the event. Timing depends on an ankle bracelet worn on the right leg at all times and laps are counted when a participant crosses the timing mat. Live lap displays will be available inside.
On site amenities include a staffed aid station with water, sports drinks, pickle juice, and Pedialyte, a variety of food options, cots, porta potties at the flood wall ends, Wi Fi on site, limited indoor lodging for a set number of people, and camping space near the course. The course is open to local traffic and participants should be aware of motorists and residents. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
