Conquer The Wall Endurance Challenge - Williamson WV
This endurance event takes place in Williamson, West Virginia, on the campus of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. The course is a flat, paved 2.05 mile loop along the West Williamson flood wall and the college grounds. The event is organized by the Tug Valley Road Runners and marks the event's tenth anniversary. Participant fields are limited to 250 entries.
Race formats and timing:
- 47 hour event, solo or teams of 2 or 3
- 35 hour event, solo or teams of 2 or 3, with two start options
Timing is electronic using an ankle bracelet tracking device worn on the right leg; laps are counted when crossing the timing mat and live results are displayed. At 50 miles participants may change direction after crossing the timing mat. Relay exchanges are performed by transferring the ankle bracelet between teammates.
Equipment and special categories: Rucking is permitted with a required rucksack weight of 25 lb, with weight checks before the race, periodically during the race, and after the race. Finishers receive items and there are awards and belt buckles for milestone mileages; top male and female mileage performers receive special awards.
Facilities and support: Onsite food and hydration options include water, sports drinks, pickle juice, Pedialyte, a range of meals and vegan choices. Cots, limited indoor lodging, camping, porta potties, Wi Fi, and campus parking are available. Volunteers are organized in shifts and receive a long sleeve volunteer shirt.
