Cloudland Canyon Trail Races

Cloudland Canyon Trail Races take place December 5-6, 2026 at Cloudland Canyon State Park in Rising Fawn, Georgia. The event offers multiple trail distances that start and finish inside the park and emphasizes scenic canyon terrain.

Distances and basic cutoffs:

  • 50 Mile, about 6500 ft gain, 15.5 hour cutoff
  • 50K, about 4500 ft gain, 11 hour cutoff
  • 25K, about 2200 ft gain, 5.5 hour cutoff
  • 5 Mile, about 500 ft gain, 1.5 hour cutoff

Course layout uses loop and lollipop formats. The 50k is based on a single loop plus a lollipop section; the 50 mile follows the 50k course with an additional lollipop. Routes include rolling hills, several climbs of a few hundred feet, and descents to the canyon floor. The course passes waterfalls and open canyon views.

All participants receive a pint glass and a beanie or hat; 50 mile, 50k and 25k finishers receive a medal. To be guaranteed event swag or a medal, registration must be completed by November 1. The organizer donates event proceeds to Cloudland Canyon State Park / Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park. Maps, aid station breakdowns, and a runner handbook are provided by the organizer. Refund and credit policy: outside 90 days a 50 percent credit toward another Run Bum race is available minus fees; within 90 days there are no refunds, transfers, or deferments.
