Cloudland Canyon Trail Run, December 5 - 6, 2026

The Cloudland Canyon Trail Run takes place at Cloudland Canyon State Park, 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Rd, Rising Fawn, GA. The event features multiple trail distances over varied terrain and pays money to Cloudland Canyon State Park and Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park.

Course and terrain information: the routes use loop and lollipop formats. The 50K and 50 mile courses include rolling hills with several climbs of about 200 to 500 feet and a descent to the bottom of the canyon and climb back. Elevation gain is approximately 7,500 ft for the 50 mile, 4,500 ft for the 50K, 2,900 ft for the 25K, and about 500 ft for the 5 mile. The 5 mile route is described as hiker friendly; the other distances may require running at times to meet cutoffs. Runners will pass waterfalls and open valley views.

Cutoff times:

  • 50 mile - 15.5 hours
  • 50K - 11 hours
  • 25K - 5.5 hours
  • 5 mile - 1.5 hours

Participant items and policies: all runners receive a pint glass and a beanie or hat. Finishers of the 50 mile, 50K and 25K receive a medal. To be guaranteed swag and a medal, registration must be completed by November 1. Refund policy: outside 90 days before the event a 50% credit toward another Run Bum race is offered minus fees; within 90 days there are no refunds, transfers, or deferments. Scenic City Trail Race in Chattanooga runs on a measured 6.65 mile loop with two laps for the half marathon and four laps for the marathon. Proceeds support Wild Trails, a local 501(c)(3) focused on trail conservation.

A Last Man Standing event in Chattanooga on June 13, 2026 where runners repeat a 4.3 mile loop each hour and are eliminated if they miss the cutoff; laps continue until a single runner remains.

A low cost, no awards trail run and hike at Lula Lake Land Trust in Chattanooga with 5K and 15K routes. The 15K includes a rope section and a descent to Lula Falls, with proceeds supporting the land trust.

A 314 mile unsupported footrace from a Mississippi River ferry crossing to the Rock on Sand Mountain in Northeast Georgia. Runners follow roads and backroads, must self-support, and check in by phone twice daily.
