The 50 Mile and 50K are held on Saturday. The 25K and 5 Miler take place on Sunday.
Course, cutoffs, and logistics
All races start and finish in the state park. Course formats include loop and lollipop sections: the 50K uses a single loop plus a lollipop, and the 50 Mile follows the 50K course with an additional lollipop. Routes include rolling hills, several climbs of about 200-500 ft, and a descent to the bottom of the canyon and back. Runners pass waterfalls and open valley views.
Elevation gain and cutoff times listed in event materials:
- 50 Mile: about 6500–7500 ft gain, cutoff about 15.5 hours
- 50K: 4500 ft gain, cutoff 11 hours
- 25K: about 2200–2900 ft gain, cutoff 5.5 hours
- 5 Miler: about 500–800 ft gain, cutoff 1.5 hours
All entrants receive a pint glass and a beanie or hat; 50 Mile, 50K, and 25K finishers receive medals. To be guaranteed swag or a medal, registration must be completed by November 1. The race donates money to Cloudland Canyon State Park and Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park. Refund and transfer policy: outside 90 days before the event a 50% credit toward another Run Bum race is offered minus fees; within 90 days there are no refunds, transfers, or deferments.
