Course and race rules

The race starts at the North Fork Trailhead Parking lot (boat ramp) and consists of three 10-mile loops around Clinton Lake. The route is almost entirely single-track with a short section on road and a bridge that connects the two sides of the loop. Each loop has about 1500 feet of elevation gain. There are two fully stocked aid stations on each loop. Runners all follow the same clockwise direction. A course sweep will operate and runners must remain ahead of the sweep.

No cups are provided; runners should carry a personal container for liquids. Pacers are not allowed. Early starts are not permitted.

Volunteering, affiliations, and awards

The event has a mandatory volunteer requirement; participants may fulfill this by volunteering at another race or doing trail work, using an honor-system form submitted near race day. The race is part of the 50K MashUp series and 50K MashUp participants receive a special recognition item at packet pickup. Top three male and female finishers receive awards. All participants receive a long-sleeved Clinton item and a finisher item. The event has a history of donating proceeds to local and regional causes and plans to support Clinton Trail maintenance. Enjoy a scenic and challenging 5.7 mile trail run along the Sangamon River at Robert Allerton Park in Monticello IL, finishing in a meadow. Proceeds support park trail care and there is a 2 mile nature walk plus a virtual option.
