Christmas Canter

Christmas Canter is a multi-distance winter running event held at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. The event uses a mass start format and has a seven-hour cut off.

Course format varies by distance. Runners covering distances under a half marathon follow an out and back with required turnarounds. The half marathon is one loop, the full marathon is two loops, and the ultra continues to the 5k turnaround point. The event makes use of the Hargrave Half route with Mount Barrow used for the 5k and 10k sections.

Support and logistics are provided from Race HQ / Base Camp located at the start and lap point, where a water and aid station will operate. Additional aid stations offering drinks and snacks are placed approximately every 10k. The event has a cupless policy; cups are not provided for refilling. Parking is included in the entry price.

Entry information is managed through the organiser's portal. Entrants receive an email confirmation that includes a link to the race briefing information pack. Guided trail runs by ESCAPE trails at High Lodge in Thetford Forest. Sessions in February and March 2026 feature forest facts, trail running tips, and routes of 10k and 16k with prices from £12.50 to £17.50.

Rayne'ing Medals Anniversary at Rayne Station on 15 February 2026 offers 5km to marathon options plus a 6 hour challenge on traffic-free 5.3km loops, aid stations each lap and a choice of bespoke medals.
