Christmas Canter

Christmas Canter is a multi-distance winter running event held at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. The event uses a mass start format and has a seven-hour cut off.

Distances offered include:

  • Full marathon
  • Ultra marathon

Course format varies by distance. Runners covering distances under a half marathon follow an out and back with required turnarounds. The half marathon is one loop, the full marathon is two loops, and the ultra continues to the 5k turnaround point. The event makes use of the Hargrave Half route with Mount Barrow used for the 5k and 10k sections.

Support and logistics are provided from Race HQ / Base Camp located at the start and lap point, where a water and aid station will operate. Additional aid stations offering drinks and snacks are placed approximately every 10k. The event has a cupless policy; cups are not provided for refilling. Parking is included in the entry price.

Entry information is managed through the organiser's portal. Entrants receive an email confirmation that includes a link to the race briefing information pack. The event provides a bespoke finisher medal, with a lucky dip finisher option available where stated. Open to entrants aged 18 and over on the event date. Trail runs nearby

Take on a scenic spring half marathon through the heart of Thetford Forest. The traffic-free course features hard-packed trails suitable for road and trail runners. All finishers receive a medal.

A guided 16k trail run at High Lodge in Thetford Forest led at a conversational pace, including forest facts and practical trail running tips. Terrain is mostly flat with some small hills; parking is charged at £4 and entry is £17.50.

The High Lodge 10K Guided Trail Run will take place in Brandon on Sunday 22 March 2026. You can run 10 kilometers.

A multi distance running festival at Haughley Park on 12 April 2026 offering 5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon and ultra marathon options. The course mixes pathways, trails and woodland and includes on site parking and an aid station.
