Chilterns 30km

The Chilterns 30km is a one day trail running event that follows roughly 30 km (18 miles) of marked trails through the Chiltern Hills. The route passes through woodland, hidden routes, grass-covered ridge lines and quaint villages, with a route ascent of about 500 m described as rolling hills.

The event uses the Iron Room Hall near Tring Station as its base. Tring station is a short walk from the venue and has paid parking and a taxi rank; the location is described as around 40 minutes north west of London with train links from Euston. Facilities at the event include toilets, bag storage, a well stocked checkpoint and a refreshment point. Spectators are welcome and viewing locations are provided to participants in the final briefing.

Run the Wild provides trail technique instruction from experienced guides and places a Run Leader with each group. Participants are grouped by ability. The organiser advises being able to be on your feet for about five hours, having run close to a half marathon previously, and ideally being able to run around 7 km in an hour on the flat. A Run the Wild finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees certificate are included.

Entry is limited (50 spaces reported) and the published individual ticket price is £75. Personal insurance, travel and parking are not included. A list of mandatory kit is provided by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
