Both courses start from the parking lot next to the trailhead and run on single and double track through off-road terrain with rolling hills, elevation changes, and sections of roots and rocks. The organizer reports GPS measurements of the courses as 5.59 miles and 3.87 miles, while a calibrated bicycle computer measures them as 6.2 miles and 4.3 miles. Runners follow a counter clockwise direction and the two distances split and rejoin at specified mile points on the route.

Awards include medals and prizes for overall top three male and female finishers and overall masters winners, plus top three finishers in each age group. Medals must be collected in person. Walkers are allowed but must be able to complete the distance at a 16-minute-per-mile pace or faster to receive an official time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
