Carrick Mountain
The Carrick Mountain event is a mountain running race held in County Wicklow. The course is situated on the main mountain peak and consists of two primary climbs and two descents. Participants navigate a mix of fire roads at the start to allow the field to space out, followed by sections of fast downhill single-track paths. The route is fully marked for runners.
There are two course options available for participants:
- 7.9 km Long Course with 450 m of ascent
- 4.3 km Short Course
The event is part of the Leinster League and is categorized with a moderate difficulty rating due to the terrain and total ascent. All participants are required to carry Level B mandatory kit for safety. This kit must include a waterproof jacket, a hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with emergency numbers saved, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. Equipment checks may be performed at registration.
Registration takes place at Cooley Farm, where parking is also provided on a private equestrian premises. The organizers require participants to register online in advance.
