Course and logistics

The course starts and finishes in the Lower Meadow next to Piper’s Creek. The route is mostly forest (85%) with a mix of fast, wide trail (64%) and narrower rolling trail (36%), including flatter sections and moderate to steep sections. The 5k follows Piper’s Creek Trail, climbs to the head of the valley, traverses the South Ridge Trail, descends Clay Pit and Hillside trails to the meadow. The 10k is two loops of the 5k. Measured climb is about 480 feet for the 5k and 960 feet for the 10k (climb measured within about 10% accuracy).

The aid station is located at the start/finish (the halfway point for 10k runners) and provides water, electrolyte drink, and a variety of carbohydrate or salty foods. Trails remain open to other users during the event. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
