Capes 100

Capes 100 is a trail running event featuring several distances. The flagship distance is the 100-mile race (approximately 160 km). There are also 86 km and 46 km options.

The event takes place on the Mabou Highlands and along the Atlantic Ocean in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. The course runs across beaches, streams, and offers spectacular vistas.

Participants must be 19 years of age or older. Main registration for all distances is listed as sold out, but waitlists are available. Registration includes a Salomon Capes 100 technical running t-shirt and insurance.

Volunteers can register for shifts and receive a t-shirt and free camping. A pacer program is also available from the 110 km mark for the 100-mile race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

A 185 mile, 17-stage relay around Cape Breton's Cabot Trail on May 23-24 2026, starting in Baddeck and passing through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park to Margaree Valley. Registration for 2026 will open soon.
