The Canyons Endurance Runs by UTMB
The Canyons Endurance Runs by UTMB take place in Auburn, California, in the northern foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The event is scheduled for April 2027 and finishes downtown in Auburn. The courses pass through sections of the historic Western States Trail and include notable features such as the river crossing at Rucky Chucky, Devil's Thumb, and Swinging Bridge.
The event includes multiple race distances with listed elevation gains:
- 100 miles : 161 km; 5550 m plus elevation gain
- 100 km : 100 km; 3750 m plus elevation gain
- 50 km : 50 km; 1700 m plus elevation gain
- 25 km : 25 km; 850 m plus elevation gain
The Canyons event is a dual qualifier for the UTMB World Series Finals and the Western States Endurance Run. The Canyons 100K is a Western States 100 Super Golden Ticket race in which the top three female and male finishers earn direct entry to the Western States Endurance Run.
