Darrington Single Track Trail Challenge
This trail event takes place in November 2027 at the Darrington Trail Head in the Folsom Lake area near Pilot Hill, California. The course runs along lake shores and offers single-track sections with dirt and rock surfaces and minimal pavement, with rolling hills and lake vistas.
Distances and approximate ascent:
- 5K 449 ft ascent
- 10K 803 ft ascent
- 18 Mile 2,342 ft ascent
- 36 Mile (Ultra) 4,511 ft ascent
Two fully stocked aid stations operate on course, with a primary aid station at the Start/Finish and an additional Peninsula Campground aid station. Aid stations remain open until the last runner arrives; runners who miss cutoffs may be removed from the course and returned to the start. Drop bag service is available the morning of the race and can be left at the Peninsula Campground aid station for longer distances. Toilets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Volunteer photographers will capture event photos that are posted online. Parking is plentiful though the site charges a day-use fee, and carpooling is encouraged. Course markings include pink ribbons, stakes with direction signs, and gypsum powder on the ground. Runners should carry lights at the start and may need them if finishing after dark. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
