Canyon De Chelly Ultra 55K

Canyon De Chelly Ultra is a 55K trail race held on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona on October 10, 2026. The course begins at the entrance to the canyon and follows a 17 mile route up Canyon de Chelly past ancient ruins, petroglyphs and pictographs to Spider Rock. Runners then continue up Bat Canyon trail, gaining about 1,200 feet from the canyon floor to the Spider Rock overlook turnaround point before returning the same way.

The return route provides different views of the canyon features passed on the way out. Terrain on the course includes sand, single track, creek crossings and other natural obstacles. The first and last 2.5 miles are in sand and are described as having a similar effect to large vertical climbs.

Lottery registration opened February 1 at 12:00 am and closed February 7 at midnight local time. The order of registration did not influence the waitlist.
