Camden State Park Trail Races

Camden State Park in southwest Minnesota sits on the Coteau des Prairies plateau. The Redwood River cuts through the park and forms a wooded valley with a network of hiking, biking, and running trails.

Distances offered:

  • 3-mile course
  • 7-mile course
  • 10-mile course

The 3 mile and 10 mile fields start together; the 7 mile field starts five minutes later. The 10 mile course combines the 3 mile and 7 mile routes. Races start and finish in the south parking lot near the Redwood River and Bluebird trailheads. There is ample parking and the event uses the full group camp area.

Courses run counter clockwise, heading north through the valley along the Redwood River, then turning east to climb the bluff and travel along woods and open prairie before returning down into the valley to the finish. Trail surfaces vary from wide mowed paths to technical singletrack.

Each distance awards overall first and overall last male and female finishers. The event is part of a multi-race points series that scores 10 points for first place down to 1 point for tenth place within age divisions. Age divisions for the series are 29 and under, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60 plus. Entrants receive a buff as event swag. General entry fees and a reduced youth fee apply.
