Camden State Park Trail Races
Camden State Park Trail Races take place at Camden State Park in southwest Minnesota, with the course starting and finishing in the south parking lot by the Redwood River and Bluebird Trailheads. The event offers three distances:
- 3-mile race
- 7-mile race
- 10-mile race (3-mile plus 7-mile course)
The 3- and 10-mile fields start together; the 7-mile field follows about five minutes later. Races run counter clockwise, heading north through the valley along the Redwood River, then turning east up the bluff to run along woods and open prairie before returning down into the valley to the finish. Trails vary from wide mowed paths to technical singletrack. Ample parking is available and the event uses the park group camp area during the race. A buff is provided as event swag. Course maps are available for each distance.
Awards are given in each race for first and last overall male and female finishers. The race is part of a points series that includes Deer Dash, Camden, Big Sioux Rec, Newton Hills, and partner races; points are allocated 10 points for first, decreasing by one to 1 point for tenth in each age division. Age divisions for the series are 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus.
Entry fees are the same for all distances: general registration fee is $40 and competitors 18 and under pay $15. Registration is handled through the event registration platform. The race date is August 22, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
