Camden State Park Trail Races

The Camden State Park Trail Races take place in the Coteau des Prairies highland region of southwest Minnesota. The course travels through a wooded valley formed by the Redwood River, utilizing a network of hiking, biking, and running trails. Participants encounter a variety of terrain, ranging from wide mowed paths to technical singletrack.

The events follow a counter-clockwise route that heads north through the valley and along the river. The path eventually turns east to ascend a bluff, where the course transitions between wooded sections and open prairie before returning to the valley floor. All distances start and finish at the south parking lot near the Redwood River and Bluebird Trailheads.

Participants can choose from three available distances:

  • 3 miles
  • 7 miles
  • 10 miles

The 10 mile distance is a combination of the 3 mile and 7 mile courses. The event includes a points series competition with various age divisions, including 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Awards are presented to the first and last overall male and female finishers in each race category. The event base provides access to a full group camp and ample parking for attendees.
