Trail Running at Caloosahatchee Regional Park

Caloosa Fest is an outdoor sports event located in Alva, Florida. The races take place on the trail system within Caloosahatchee Regional Park, specifically utilizing the mountain bike trails. The event features two primary distances:

  • 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
  • 5K Trail Run

The 5K course consists of a scenic loop with rolling terrain. It utilizes a mix of grass, hard-packed surfaces, and single track trails. This route is set on the green trails, which are designated as beginner friendly sections of the park.

The Half Marathon utilizes a broader selection of the park's trail system. The course includes perimeter trails, open grass sections, winding single tracks, and technical segments. Participants in the 13.1 Mile distance are required to carry a hydration system, such as a vest, handheld bottle, or hydration pack.

On-site facilities include a main aid station at the start and finish area, with additional water and electrolyte stations at specific intervals on the longer course. There is designated space at the start and finish for canopy tents and crew support. Parking is available on the grass inside the mountain bike park area. All participants receive a finisher medal, and awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
