Burney Mountain 100
The Burney Mountain 100 is a 100 mile endurance run based at Burney Mountain Guest Ranch in Cassel, California. The looped course goes through Lassen National Forest and the Thousand Lakes Wilderness, including the Burney Basin.
The route has approximately 15,000 feet of cumulative elevation gain and includes a variety of terrain, from rocky ridgelines and sections above the tree line to forest floor and lake-adjacent areas. Runners can see Mount Lassen, Mount Shasta, the Hat Creek Rim, and nearby lava flows along parts of the course.
Course maps are published on Gaia and Caltopo. A runner's guide provides details on aid stations, drop bags, crew access, and pacer policies. Camping on site at Burney Mountain Guest Ranch is available for runners and crew for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights with dry camping costs covered by the race organizer; paid upgrades at the ranch are available for runners with a noted discount of $25.
Amenities at the ranch include a restaurant, a salt water pool, laundry, and cornhole. The restaurant will be open for crew and pacers, and a post race meal is provided for runners. The event policy states there are no refunds; registration may be deferred up to one week before race day and entries may be transferred until one day before race start. Registration closes June 16 at 11:59 PM PT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
