Burney Mountain 100

Burney Mountain 100 : June 18, 2027, Cassel CA

The Burney Mountain 100 is a 100 mile loop organized by Intermountain Endurance that starts and finishes at Burney Mountain Guest Ranch and travels through Lassen National Forest, the Burney Basin, and the Thousand Lakes Wilderness. The route passes volcanic peaks, deep forest, high country slopes, and remote singletrack, with roughly 15,000 feet of cumulative climbing.

Course routing depends on seasonal snowmelt. Four course variations, labeled A, B, C, and D, adjust upper elevation sections; Course A includes a full summit of Magee Peak and is used only in low snow years. A GPX file is provided for navigation and runners are required to have it loaded on a watch or phone.

Beginning in 2027, entrants are required to complete either eight hours of trail work or 12 hours of race volunteer service. A Runner's Guide describes aid stations, drop bag rules, crew and pacer information, and submission instructions for trail work or volunteer credit. All Intermountain Endurance events are cupless races; runners should bring a personal reusable cup.

Camping on site at the guest ranch is provided free for runners and crew on the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights around the event. The ranch lists lodging upgrades and offers a $25 discount to runners. The event has a no refund policy, with deferral and transfer options available within specified time windows.
