Burney Mountain 100
The Burney Mountain 100 is a 100 miles trail race on June 18, 2027 in Cassel, CA, organized by Intermountain Endurance. The course is a single loop that starts and finishes at Burney Mountain Guest Ranch and travels through Lassen National Forest, the Burney Basin, and the Thousand Lakes Wilderness.
Four possible course variations, labeled A, B, C, and D, are used depending on seasonal snow conditions. Course A is the only version that includes a full summit of Magee Peak and is used in low snow years. All versions retain the remote mountain character of the route.
The course includes approximately 15,000 feet of cumulative climbing and a mix of terrain: rocky ridgelines, forest floor, high country slopes, and singletrack through wilderness areas. Runners must have the GPX file downloaded on their watch or phone and are required to read the Runner's Guide for aid station, drop bag, crew, and pacer information. This event is cup less; runners should bring a reusable cup.
Beginning in 2027, runners must complete either 8 hours of trail work or 12 hours of race volunteer service. Camping is available at Burney Mountain Guest Ranch with free dry camping Thursday through Saturday nights for runners and crew; lodging upgrades at the ranch are available with a listed $25 discount. The listed entry fee is USD 376.25. No refunds are offered; deferrals are allowed up to one week before the race and transfers up to one day before the race.
