Buffalo Stampede Festival, Bright and Mount Buffalo, Victoria

The Buffalo Stampede Festival is a multi-day series of sky running and trail running races held in Bright and on Mount Buffalo. The 2027 event runs from 19 to 21 March and draws over 3,500 trail runners. The event village is located at Pioneer Park Recreation Reserve, 64/72 Coronation Ave, Bright VIC 3741.

The Buffalo Stampede 100 km route runs from Bright to the Horn, the highest point of Mount Buffalo, and includes long sections inside the National Park and on the plateau of Mount Buffalo. The SkyMarathon is a mountain marathon route from Mount Buffalo to Bright with a predominantly downhill profile. The SkyRun is a loop that passes Mystic and Clearspot. Kangaroo Hoppet is an annual cross country ski event at Falls Creek held on the third Saturday of August, featuring 42 km, 21 km and 7 km races and drawing over 1000 skiers from Australia and overseas.
