Course, support and rules
The event is run on open roads with no official aid stations; runners are dependent on themselves or on crew for supplies. Crews are encouraged in sections with limited resources but are not required. Runners who cannot complete the course must self-extract and may need to wait for transportation back to their vehicle. Stores and diners are described as plentiful between about 6:00 and 9:00-10:00 PM, and several towns with hotels are located along the route, including Austinburg, Warren, Salem, and Lisbon.
The 100 mile option begins on Friday, August 14 at Wellsville Nicholson Stadium and finishes at Walnut Beach; participants in the 100 mile run are required to provide their own transportation to the start. The 100 mile cutoff is 72 hours. There are no refunds, deferrals, or transfers. Twenty dollars from each paid 2026 entry will go to the Wellsville high school athletic department. The final course map follows mostly Ohio route 45 and will be posted and emailed to entrants. The current course records stand at 53:56:59 (men, 2023) and 58:08:36 (women, 2022); breaking a record earns $100 and free future entry.
