Brent Knoll Race

The Brent Knoll Race is an off road hill event set around Brent Knoll in Somerset, held on Sunday 22 November 2026. The route is approximately 6 miles long with about 569 ft of elevation and combines footpaths, bridleways and quiet country roads.

Runners follow an outward route from the Burnham Association of Sports Clubs (BASC) sportsground, complete a steep ascent to the summit, run a half circuit around the top and return via steep descents back to the sportsground. Trail conditions can include mud and uneven ground; trail running shoes are recommended. There are no water stations on the course; drinks are provided at the finish.

Facilities at the BASC sportsground include toilets and changing areas, refreshments with drinks and snacks, and a limited bag drop left at participants' own risk. There is ample parking on site but the entrance has a height barrier that restricts vans and high sided vehicles; car park marshals will direct traffic. BASC operates a no dogs on site policy.

Entry fee is £20 with a £2 discount for holders of a current England Athletics registration number. Entries close on 18 November at 18:00. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and to age category winners; all finishers receive a unique medal. Only bone conduction headphones are permitted in line with England Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
