Course, support and safety

The course is unmarked and mixed terrain, including vehicle tracks, flowing trails, road sections and areas of bog and steep climbs. Runners follow a written route description and receive a map; a GPX route file is also made available. Marshals will be present at key locations but not at every junction. There is a mandatory kit list for safety. The organiser warns of possible winter conditions such as rain, ice, snow, high winds and frost. Runners receive a finish-line meal and a memento.

Entries open 1 July 2025 and close 1 January 2026. Minimum age is 18 or older. Entry fees are: Affiliated £35.00 and Unaffiliated £39.00. Refunds and transfers are allowed with conditions: transfers and refunds until 1 November (minus admin fees); refunds until 1 December minus 50%; from 1 December no refunds but transfers to another runner are allowed (admin fees apply).
