Born to Run Ultra Marathons
Born to Run Ultra Marathons is a multi-day trail running event held at a ranch near Los Olivos, CA from May 12 to May 16, 2027. Event capacity is limited to the first 300 registered participants and guests. The organizer lists an intention to hold the event as planned but may amend or cancel if required by health officials, permit holders, or property owners.
The event offers onsite camping, marked dirt trails, aid stations about every 5 miles, and electronic chip lap counting. All ranch visitors must be registered as a runner or guest. A daily ranch fee of $10 per person is payable at check in in cash. No refunds, transfers, or deferrals are allowed.
Course details: the route is 100 percent dirt made up of ranch roads and single-track. The format uses two one-way roughly 10 mile loops that meet at the center, allowing vehicle access every 10 miles and permitting self-crewing from a vehicle. Loop 1 is about +2100 ft gain and marked with pink ribbon. Loop 2 is about +1600 ft gain and marked with yellow ribbon. Striped ribbon indicates turns; blue ribbon marks the wrong way. No dogs are allowed on the course.
Race options and passes include:
- Four day 96 hour option, 100 or 200 mile buckle available
- Three day 72 hour option, 100 mile buckle available
- 100 mile race, finish within 48 hours
- 30 mile race, three 10-mile loops
- 20 mile race, two 10-mile loops
- 10 mile race, one 10-mile loop
- Guest day pass, ranch access per day
