Bohemian Alps 50K : Brainard, Nebraska

The Bohemian Alps 50K is an ultramarathon held on October 24, 2026. It is the 32nd running of this event and is listed as a 50K; the course is described as "33 miles or so" of rolling hills.

The route uses mostly gravel and dirt roads through rural Butler and Saunders counties, with some bike trail and sections run cross country. There is very little pavement. The course is a loop that starts and finishes at the organizer's house in downtown Brainard and is described as crew friendly.

Aid and water stops are provided at intervals along the course. There are no time limits. Long sleeve shirts are given to entrants and a finishers award is provided to those who complete the course. A post-race food and drink social follows the run.

Lodging is available in nearby towns and free camping is offered in Brainard. Registration closes on October 20 at 11:59 PM CT. An adventure orienteering race at Conestoga Lake on April 18, 2026 combining 15 miles of trail running and paddling. Solo and two or three person teams navigate with pre plotted CalTopo maps and face a three hour cutoff.

Navigate through Waubonsie Park using maps and instructions to find checkpoints in this final series race. Participants can compete solo or in teams for a self supported five mile orienteering challenge.
