Blue Goat Backyard Marathon

Blue Goat Backyard Marathon is a multi-distance trail event held in the backyard of Blue Mountains Fitness in Mount Victoria, New South Wales. The event offers several race options on marked looped courses and includes an endurance Last One Standing format.

Distances offered include:

  • 5 km (Last One Standing and 5 km runs)
  • 10.5 km lap for other distances
  • Half marathon (two 10.5 km laps)
  • 30 km (three 10.5 km laps)
  • Marathon (four 10.5 km laps)
  • 50 km (multiple 10.5 km laps)
  • Kids race 1 km

The Last One Standing format uses repeated 5 km laps run on the hour. A new 5 km loop is used for the Last One Standing and the 5 km races; all other distances use the 10.5 km lap.

Course marking includes flagging tape, arrows on trees and signage. Each participant must carry at least a 500 ml water bottle and a snake bandage; a mobile phone and a headlamp are also required if running at night. Water and provisions are available at checkpoints, with Tailwind Nutrition products listed among supplies. Sunscreen and a cap are recommended.

The organisers ask participants to respect litter rules, notify checkpoint or event staff if they withdraw, and be mindful of other runners. Wildlife may be present on course. Entry is limited to 200 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
