Blue Goat 2025 is the seventh edition of the Blue Goat Backyard Marathon weekend, held on November 29-30, 2025, at the Blue Goat Backyard on Darling Causeway, Mount Victoria, NSW. The event is a multi-distance trail running weekend on single-track and undulating terrain, organised around a 10.5 km lap and a separate shorter loop used for the endurance format and short race.

Race details and logistics

Distances and formats include:

  • 50 km - five laps of the 10.5 km single-track course
  • Marathon - four laps of the 10.5 km course
  • 30 km - three laps of the 10.5 km course
  • Half Marathon - two laps of the 10.5 km course; minimum age 14
  • 10.5 km - one lap of the main course; minimum age 10
  • 5 km / Kids races - shorter loop used for the Last One Standing and 5 km events

The Last One Standing (LOS) is an endurance event on a 5 km lap with about 150 m of elevation gain and repeated laps on the hour. The 5 km dash is run as a hot lap of the LOS course.

Aid is centred at the event hub; water is available at other points on course and runners on the 10.5 km lap are asked to refill at the hub each lap. Mandatory gear includes a 500 ml water bottle, a snake bandage, and a phone with the race director's number stored. Overall male and female trophies are awarded in each main event, sponsor prizes for second and third, and all finishers receive a medal. The 50% refund cutoff date for cancellations is 1 November 2025. Volunteers and a fundraising campaign for Lifeline Australia are part of the event.
