Blue Goat 2025 is the rescheduled 7th edition of the Blue Goat Backyard Marathon. It takes place on 29-30 November 2025 at the Blue Goat Backyard, Darling Causeway, Mount Victoria, NSW, Australia. The event uses single-track laps through the Blue Mountains area and includes multiple race options over two days. Check in, bib collection, transfers and late entries are available on the Friday evening before the event and from Saturday morning.

Distances and lap formats:

  • 50 km - 5 laps of the 10.5 km course
  • Marathon (42.195 km) - 4 laps of the 10.5 km course
  • 30 km - 3 laps of the 10.5 km course
  • Half Marathon - 2 laps of the 10.5 km course
  • 10.5 km - 1 lap of the 10.5 km course
  • 5 km / Last One Standing (LOS) - based on a separate 5 km lap

The 10.5 km lap is described as fast single track with some rocky sections and undulating terrain. The LOS lap is approximately 5 km with about 150 m of elevation change per lap. The event hub is the main aid station; water is available on course and runners are asked to refill each lap for the 10.5 km distance. Mandatory personal items include a 500 ml bottle, a snake bandage and a phone with the race director contact stored. Transfers and event changes carry a $25 fee for swaps to lesser distances; the last date for 50% refunds is 1 November 2025. Prizes include overall male and female trophies in each main distance and medals for all finishers. Sponsors include RUNLY, Tailwind Nutrition Australia, T8 and others. Night ridge runs near Katoomba from Narrowneck Lookout, with 14 km or 24.7 km out and back options along the scenic firetrail. Rugged single track, mandatory safety gear and a mid route aid station make for an adventurous evening.

Join a guided Blue Mountains stair training run in Katoomba on Feb 1, 2026, with routes from 11 to 25 km and pace groups for all abilities. Licensed trainers lead safe park sessions and provide pre run maps and gear guidance.

Run Season 16 of Wentworth Falls on 8 February 2026, a short course through the stunning Blue Mountains. Start and finish at Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains in Leura for scenic trails and a fun community vibe.

Guided trail run at Scenic World in the Blue Mountains, following the UTA course for 18 to 32 km with pace groups and shuttle support. Part of the 16 week Streek program, this is the first long run before recovery week.
