Blackstrap Trail Race at Blackstrap Provincial Park
The Saskatoon Road Runners present the Blackstrap Trail Race at Blackstrap Provincial Park in Dundurn, Saskatchewan. The course uses forested valley trails that combine wider cross-country ski trails and single track. The event offers two approximate distances.
- 5 km (ish)
- 10 km (ish)
This is a green, no frills event: there are no T-shirts or medals. Registration is capped at 80 participants. Entry fee is CA$15.00 per runner plus taxes and Race Roster administration fees. No refunds are offered. Members of the Saskatoon Road Runners Association receive a CA$5.00 discount.
A traditional wiener roast lunch follows the run. No awards are presented; instead there will be five special draw prizes for participants. Official results, including age class and Masters subdivisions, will be posted on the organizer's website later the day after the event.
The park is located about 50 km south of Saskatoon. Public directions note Highway 11 to Dundurn, then Highway 211 east to Blackstrap Lake, cross the causeway and turn to the park kiosk; the trailhead parking lot is about 2 km past the kiosk, first left. A Saskatchewan provincial park pass or daily permit is recommended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
