Black Gold Brute Obstacle Course Race 2026 : Drayton Valley, Alberta

The event returns for its fourth year at 5737 45 Ave, Drayton Valley, AB, Canada on July 4, 2026. It is a loop-style obstacle course race where completing additional loops increases distance and number of obstacles.

Multiple formats are available. The Competitive heat requires completing three loops of 4.33 km each with all obstacles attempted; some failed obstacles carry penalties and top male and female finishers receive prizes. The Savage and Barbaric levels require completing 6 loops and 10 loops respectively, including all obstacles, within a 6-hour time limit. In the Savage level, after the third loop participants "roll the dice" at each obstacle station to determine the next obstacle.

Open heats allow up to three loops with no penalties for failed or missed obstacles, up to 12.99 km if all three loops are completed. The Team heat is for teams of five; at least one team member must complete every obstacle and teams face specific challenges during the race.
