Black Barn Backyard Ultra - Bonney Lake, WA

Black Barn Backyard Ultra is a Last Runner Standing event held on October 3, 2026 in Bonney Lake, Washington at 11315 Angeline Rd E. The race is organized by Freedom Ultra Runners and uses the Backyard Ultra format, where athletes run repeated one-lap loops and the last runner to complete a lap is the winner.

The event places a $100 bill in a clear container at the start of each new lap. The accumulated prize in the jar is split between the final two runners: the winner receives 75 percent and the runner who went the second longest receives 25 percent. Prize totals increase as laps accumulate.

Every runner who completes 24 laps (100 miles) receives a custom engraved belt buckle. All participants receive a DNF medal engraved with their laps or miles completed, with a special medal reserved for the winner. Additional items include a T-shirt (sizes and quantities may be limited for late registrants), a sticker kit, a cowbell, and other event items.

Race rules emphasize lap protocol and self-support. Runners must be in the starting area at the start of each lap and begin with the field. No outside aid or crewing is allowed during a lap. Water and a limited supply of prepackaged food are available at the start/finish; competitors are responsible for their own nutrition and aid.

Registration closes September 30. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
