The Wiener Run 5K & 10K - Houston

The Wiener Run is a springtime community event held at Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land. This running event features multiple distances and focuses on a barbecue-style atmosphere, partnering with a local wiener dog rescue group. The event includes the collection of dog food, toys, and treats to support rescue operations.

The course incorporates a variety of surfaces, including pavement, crushed granite, and grass paths. Participants can expect a festive environment with a live DJ, name announcements at the finish line, and aid stations located throughout the route. Every runner receives a hot dog and a beverage after completing their race.

Available distances include:

• 10K Run (6.22 miles) chip-timed event.
• 5K Run (3.11 miles) chip-timed event.
• 1 Mile Run not chip-timed.
• Kids Dash a 20-yard dash for ages 10 and under.
• Virtual Run option for remote participation.

Awards are presented for the 5K and 10K distances, including trophies for the first overall male and female finishers and recognition for the masters category (ages 40+). Age group awards are also provided across various brackets starting from 10 and under up to 70+. Participants receive a finisher medal and a race t-shirt, with a shirt guarantee for those registered at least 10 days before the event.
