Event overview

The Wiener Run 5K & 10K takes place on May 16, 2026, at Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land, TX. The event includes in-person and virtual options and partners with a local wiener dog rescue; a portion of proceeds will support the rescue and the organizers will collect dog food, toys, and treats on race day. Post-race food service provides a hot dog and beverage for participants at the finish area. The course surface includes pavement, crushed granite, and grass paths. The race is scheduled to run rain or shine. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race start and shirts are guaranteed if registered at least 10 days before race day.

• 1 Mile - untimed community mile
• 5K - chip-timed (about 3.1 miles)
• 10K - chip-timed (6.22 miles)
• Volunteer then Run 5K - limited to the first five participants
• Virtual Run

The 5K and 10K include age-group awards and overall trophies for top finishers. There are aid stations on course, a live DJ and finish-line announcements, and adoptable dogs on-site. Volunteer roles and perks are listed, including a non-running volunteer option with a race shirt and choice of a future race entry or a $20 gift card.
