Bradbury Badass Races

Bradbury Badass Races take place at Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal, ME and follow a mostly singletrack course that crosses both sides of the park. The primary loop is 15.5 miles and routes over Tryon Mountain, around the powerlines and the Elwood Loop known as Snowman’s Loop, then returns to the park for the finish. The trail includes hills, rocks, roots, and very little flat terrain, plus about 1/2 mile of paved road and 1/4 mile of dirt road.

Distances

  • Half-Pint 25K
  • Pounder 50K two laps of the Half-Pint course

Each race is capped at 100 runners. When the cap is reached registration closes, there is no waiting list, and bib transfers are not allowed. The cap may be adjusted by the race director to accommodate eligible Bradbury Trail Series finishers. Limited parking at the state park is noted as a factor in the field size.

There are two fully stocked aid stations, PT Cruiser’s in the start and finish field and Snowman’s at the Tryon Mountain trailhead on Lawrence Road. The longest gap between aid stations is about six miles. Aid supplies include hot foods, sweet and salty snacks, fresh fruit, water, Tailwind Mandarin Orange electrolyte mix, soda, coffee, and broth. Pacers are not allowed. Pounder runners may place one labeled drop bag at the central aid station and must retrieve it after the race.

No age group awards are offered. All finishers receive a custom finisher glass and Bradbury Trail Series finishers earn the Badass Hoodie. Trail Monster Running is a not for profit organization run by unpaid volunteers; proceeds support race equipment and local outdoor nonprofits and charities.
