Bradbury Scuffle

The Bradbury Scuffle is a 6-mile trail race held in Pownal, ME, as part of the Bradbury Mountain Trail Race Series. The course uses a mix of single-track and double-track trails with a few rolling hills and the typical terrain found on Bradbury Mountain. The event is organized by Trail Monster Running, a nonprofit group of unpaid volunteer organizers.

Registration opens Feb 1, 2027. Entry is limited to 140 runners; when the cap is reached registration closes. There is no wait list, no bib transfers, and no same-day registration. Runners who complete three races in the series within the cutoff times become eligible for the series hoodie reward; overall series champions receive additional prizes.

The race enforces a cutoff time of 1 hour 48 minutes (an 18-minute mile pace). Race rules include staying on the marked course, yielding and communicating when passing, packing out litter, and respecting other park users. Headphones are discouraged so runners can hear race instructions and volunteers. Dogs are not permitted on the course or at the event for safety reasons.

All registered runners receive a custom race T-shirt at bib pickup; runners must be present to receive their shirt. Awards include top-three overall male and female selections from the prize table and additional prizes awarded by random drawings among decade age-group winners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
