Big Bear Stampede - Gardiner, MT
The Big Bear Stampede is a trail event held at Eagle Creek Campground in Gardiner, Montana on 12 September 2026. The courses run in the vicinity of Yellowstone National Park with views of Electric Peak and other peaks in northwest Yellowstone.
The event program includes the following distances:
- 5k run Trail course, about 400 ft of climbing, $30 entry.
- 9k run Trail course, about 1,000 ft of climbing, $35 entry.
- 5k walk (untimed) Uses the 5k course, $30 entry.
- Kids Run 1k Short course with multiple obstacles, free entry; donations appreciated.
There is one aid station with water only located about halfway through the 9k after the major climb. There are no aid stations on the 5k course.
Post race provisions include water, Gatorade, fresh fruit, cookies, muffins, and beer for participants over 21. Awards for both the 5k and 9k include top three overall male and female, plus first place in age groups 17 and under, 18 to 39, and 40 and over.
