Bell Ringer 5 Hour
Bell Ringer 5 Hour is a five hour run/hike held in the Shannondale Valley north of Thornhill, Manitoba. The event includes a two person relay option.
The course is a roughly 4 to 5 km single track loop, mostly dirt and grass with some rocks and stones. Each lap has about 100 meters of elevation gain. The goal is to complete as many laps as possible within five hours. Officials at the lap start and finish record bib numbers and lap start and finish times. The route is marked with arrows, tape, and flags. The course includes several close switchbacks that could be used to shorten laps if taken.
Onsite provisions include portable bathrooms, tents or shelters, endurance snacks and drinks, and a first aid responder. The event is cupless. A t shirt or other swag is provided for paid registrations completed by August 20, 2026. A post race barbecue is being arranged.
The event takes place on private land and attendees are asked to treat the land respectfully. The site is on Treaty 1 territory historically used by Cree, Dakota, Ojibay, Cree-Ojibway and Dene peoples. Proceeds support the Boundary Trails Nordic Junior Development team to offset travel costs.
