Beerwah at Daybreak

Beerwah@Daybreak is staged at the base of Mt Beerwah in the Glass House Mountains National Park. The event follows trails around the base of Mt Beerwah, a peak known by local indigenous tribes as the pregnant mother of the Glass House Mountains. The terrain is described as demanding and conditions can be unpredictable.

The event offers multiple distances:

  • Marathon two laps of the half marathon course, elevation gain 1172 m
  • Half Marathon elevation gain 586 m
  • 10 km elevation gain 294 m

The course is marked with reflective orange and silver flagging tape, with directional red arrows at intersections and red crosses indicating routes that are not part of the course. The route may change due to bush fires, flooding or harvesting; competitors must follow race day course markings.

Checkpoints provide water, electrolyte and a small variety of food but no disposable cups. Participants must carry their own cup or use a hydration pack or bottle. Mandatory items include a visible race bib, water bottle or hydration pack with minimum 500 ml capacity and a compression bandage. A headlight or suitable torch is required for the marathon. Drop bags are permitted for marathon participants and can be accessed after each lap.

Support crews are not permitted on course; crews may attend the start and finish area only. Spectators may view runners at the start and finish. Entries close on 30 November. Refunds are available until 10 November subject to a A$30 administration fee. No entries are available on the day. All finishers receive an event memento. Minimum age limits apply for each distance and those under 18 must have a parent or guardian present. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
