About the race
The Blackall100 is a trail running event on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk around Mapleton, Sunshine Coast. It offers three distances:
- 100 km
- 50 km
- 21 km
All races start and finish at QCCC Mapleton and use marked trails through forests, gullies and ridge lines with varied views. Elevation gain is published for each course: the 100 km has 3290 m, the 50 km has 1580 m and the 21 km has 580 m. The event is a qualifying race for the Western States Endurance Run.
The weekend includes a Friday evening Indigenous smoking ceremony at QCCC Mapleton and race-related activities at the race hub, which offers food and live music. Run Queensland operates a drop bag service with specified checkpoints for each distance; drop bags must meet size and weight rules and be delivered at registration. There is a spectator and crew policy with designated access points, parking at Mapleton Community Hall and a free shuttle service to some checkpoints. Mandatory safety gear is required for all entrants, and random gear checks will be conducted. Accommodation packages are available at QCCC Mapleton, which provides meals and shared-room options.
