Bedrock Valley Trail Runs
The Bedrock Valley Trail Runs is a multi-discipline event located in Hemet, California, taking place around Diamond Valley Lake. The area is known for its paleontological history, as the bedrock beneath the lake previously contained remains of mastodons and other prehistoric animals from the Ice Age. The event includes a variety of trail running distances on the first day and gravel cycling options on the second day.
Participants can choose from several running distances:
- 26.2 Miles (Trail Marathon): A flat loop around the lake including single-track sections and small climbs.
- 13.1 Miles (Trail Half Marathon): An out and back course situated along the lake bed.
- 9.3 Miles (15k): A course featuring flat sections, climbs, and descents on the Wildflower single-track trail.
- 6.2 Miles (10k): A fast out and back route with views of the water.
- 3.1 Miles (5k): Options include a flat "Stampede" course, a scenic "Soaring" trail, or a specific Stroller-only 5k.
- 1 Mile: A non-timed fun run for children aged 10 and younger.
In addition to running, the event features gravel bike races consisting of laps around the lake. Distances include 36k (one lap), 72k (two laps), and 108k (three laps), as well as a 10k ride for participants aged 15 and under.
This is a cupless race series. To maintain sustainability, no cups are provided at aid stations, and all participants must bring their own hydration vessel to carry water or sports drinks during their event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
