Beacons Ultra, Marathon and Half 2026
The event offers three trail race options that start and finish in Talybont On Usk in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, on 7 November 2026. Routes combine trail, mountain, canal and road terrain and take place in mid November, when weather can vary from sunshine to sub zero temperatures with rain and mist.
- 49 mile ultra - two 23 mile loops with an out and back.
- 26 mile marathon - single loop of the classic ultra route.
- 13 mile half marathon - route east of Talybont taking in Tor Y Foel.
Each distance has substantial ascent. Reported total elevation for the races is 2,258 metres (7,408 feet) for the ultra, 1,319 metres (4,327 feet) for the marathon and 543 metres (1,781 feet) for the half marathon. The ultra includes an additional visit to Pen y Fan on the first loop.
Entry information is published with opening on 1 December 2025 and closing on 1 November 2026. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entry fees are listed as £80 for the ultra, £60 for the marathon and £40 for the half marathon. The event is organised in Talybont On Usk with a venue listed as Henderson Hall, Penpentre.
