Stump Jump 50K & 10 Miler : Signal Mountain, TN

The Stump Jump returns for its 25th anniversary on Signal Mountain and Walden Ridge, featuring races on the Cumberland Plateau near Chattanooga, TN. The courses run primarily on single-track forest trails with sandstone sections, stream-fed coves, hemlock and rhododendron, and views of the Tennessee River Gorge.

  • 50K
  • 10 Miler

The course is about 90% single-track. Start and finish are at the Signal Mountain Soccer Fields behind Signal Mountain High School on Sam Powell Road (2650 Sam Powell Dr, Signal Mountain, TN).

Aid stations for the 50K are located at multiple miles (Edwards Point, Mushroom Rock, Indian Rock House, Snoopers Rock, Haley Road, Mullens Cove Parking Lot, Finish). Runners should bring a cup; aid stations provide water, Gatorade, and snacks, with certain stations offering additional items such as cola, ginger ale, gels, oatmeal creme pies, pickles, chips, PB&Js, and fruit.

Race rules note no crews and no drop bags; poles are allowed. The 50K has a 10-hour finish cutoff with intermediate cutoffs at specified aid stations and corresponding pace requirements. Extras include a shirt, a post-race meal, and beer from Dynamo Brewing. La Sportiva and Rossignol will have shoes available for demo. A portion of proceeds benefits Signal Mountain Athletics and Chattanooga Cave and Cliff Rescue.

Camping is available at the start/finish soccer fields with tent space and limited RV access; there are no RV hookups or showers and pavilion restrooms are available. A per-night camping fee supports Signal Mountain School. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
