Stillhouse 100K
The Stillhouse 100K is a trail ultramarathon held in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. The course is an out and back of the point to point Upchuck 50k and runs on Cumberland Trail singletrack. It includes large climbs and descents into Soddy Creek, Possum Creek, and Rock Creek and totals close to 12,000 ft of elevation gain. The route is described as technically challenging.
Aid is provided at three outbound stations placed roughly every 10 miles. Locations and approximate miles are Heiss Mountain Road (miles 13 and 49) full aid, Retro Hughes Road (miles 23 and 39) full aid, and Legget Road (mile 31) turnaround full aid. Drop bags are available at Heiss Mountain Road, Retro Hughes Road, and Legget Road. Aid station supplies include water, Powerade, prepacked chips, and gummy bears; ramen and quesadillas or grilled cheese sandwiches are available at the mile 31 aid station.
Minimum required gear includes a hydration pack, vest, or belt with at least 1 liter (34 oz) of water, a shell jacket for wind or rain, an insulating layer, a beanie and gloves as weather dictates, a headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries, an emergency blanket when required, and nutrition. A drop bag at the mile 31 turnaround is recommended. Pacers are permitted from the mile 31 turnaround and may be picked up at Legget Road and Heiss Mountain Road. Crew access points are Heiss Mountain Road (outbound and inbound) and Legget Road. Packet pick up is scheduled on April 16 at Hello Monty on Main Street.
