The Stillhouse 100k is a trail race in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, held as an out-and-back on the Cumberland Trail. The distance is 100K and the course follows the point-to-point Upchuck 50k route doubled. The route includes long climbs and descents into Soddy Creek, Possum Creek, and Rock Creek and has close to 12,000 ft of elevation gain.
Route, aid stations, and support
There are three outbound aid stations spaced at roughly 10-mile intervals. Aid station locations and mile markers are:
- Heiss Mountain Rd : miles 13 and 49, full aid
- Retro Hughes Rd : miles 23 and 39, full aid
- Legget Rd : mile 31 turnaround, full aid
Drop bags are allowed at Heiss Mountain Rd, Retro Hughes Rd, and Legget Rd. Aid stations will provide water, Powerade, prepacked chips, and gummy bears. Ramen and quesadillas or grilled cheese sandwiches will be available at the mile 31 aid station.
Pacers are allowed from the turnaround at mile 31. Pacers may be picked up at Legget Rd and at Heiss Mountain Rd. Crew access is available at Heiss Mountain Rd and Legget Rd. Only one pacer per runner is allowed at a time.
Required gear
Minimum required gear includes a hydration pack or belt with at least 1 liter (34 oz) of water, a shell jacket, an insulating layer, headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries, nutrition, and an emergency blanket.
