The Rabid Raccoon 25k is a trail race in Chattanooga, Tennessee, that begins atop Raccoon Mountain at Laurel Point. The course covers 25K and runs on the north and western sides of the mountain. Trails used include Megawatt, Grindstone Ridge, Lower Chunky, Live Wire 1 and 2, High Voltage, and Split Rock. The race alternates direction each year; the 2026 edition will run counter-clockwise. All finishers receive a campfire mug. The event is organized by Bad Beard Events.

Logistics and race services

Early packet pickup is scheduled for January 16, 2026, with the location to be announced; race-day packet pickup is available at the start/finish area on event day. Registration closes January 16, 2026. The course has a five-hour time limit. This is a cupless race; runners must carry their own hydration pack or hand-held bottle. There will be two aid stations offering water, Gatorade, and typical trail race snacks such as granola bars, gels, and gummies. Medical services are provided by Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Service. Awards are given to the first three overall female and male finishers. Post-race food and beverages will be provided. Dogs are not permitted on the course. A portion of proceeds will benefit SORBA Chattanooga. Volunteers are used to support event operations.
