Backyard Ultra - Las Cruces

The 2025 Backyard Ultra, titled "Day of the Dead Land of Enchantment," is a unique endurance running event held at the scenic Prehistoric Trackways National Monument in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This "last runner standing" race features a 4.167-mile loop on well-maintained crushed gravel trails with some elevation changes and views of the Organ Mountain range. Starting every hour, runners must complete each loop within the hour, continuing until only one remains. The event offers a large aid station area with hydration and snacks, personal crew spots, and camping. Participants receive a hoodie, a Day of the Dead DNF medal, and awards for top finishers.
